Does Perplexity watermark its answers?

Why is there a zero-width joiner in my Perplexity paste?
Zero-width joiners (U+200D) are the glue inside combined emoji and symbols. When an answer contains them, copying the text copies the joiners too. They are invisible and usually harmless — but they break string matching, so the cleaner strips them.
How do I check Perplexity text before citing it?

Does cleaning affect the citations in the answer?
