FAQ
What is zalgo text?
Zalgo (or "cursed") text is normal text overloaded with Unicode combining diacritical marks — accents that stack above, through, and below each letter. Stack enough of them and the text looks corrupted or glitched. It is still plain text, so it can be copied and pasted anywhere.
How does glitch text work?
Unicode allows any number of combining marks (like accents on é) to attach to a single character. This generator appends random marks to each letter you type. The more marks per letter, the more "cursed" the result looks.
Does glitch text work on Discord, Instagram and TikTok?
Mostly yes. Discord, Twitter/X and most chats render it fully. Some platforms trim combining marks in specific fields — Instagram limits stacking in bios and TikTok may strip marks from usernames. If a field rejects it, try the Mild level or use it in messages and comments instead.
Why does zalgo text overflow other lines?
The stacked marks render above and below the normal line height, so heavily-glitched text visually spills into neighboring lines. That is the effect — use the Mild level if you want the glitch look without the overflow.
Is zalgo text safe to send?
Yes. It is ordinary Unicode and cannot harm a device. Very long cursed text used to lag some older apps, which is why a few platforms now limit how many marks they render.
